eVAL Professional Development

ESD 112 has three objectives for supporting eVAL 2.0:

  1. To introduce the new version of eVAL to district leaders who are not currently using it;
  2. To help current users of eVAL make the leap from version 1.0 to version 2.0;
  3. To assist eVAL District and School Administrators to configure eVAL 2.0 for 2016-17.

eVAL Settings that Affect Users of the Tool (Updated 12/15/2016)

This document entitled District Administrator Settings That Affect Users is a simple guide to the settings configured by the District Administrator of eVAL. These settings are important for the end-user to know and understand, as they affect the way in which the users of eVAL can access and use the features of this wonderful tool.

eVAL 2.0 User Guide (Revised 9/28/2016)

The eVAL User Guide is a great tool to get all eVAL users started with the new version of eVAL. Designed for both teachers and principals, as well as district evaluators, this user guide will take readers through various aspects of eVAL 2.0:

  • Navigation
  • Setup (Teacher Assignments and Prompts)
  • Self-Assessment
  • Student Growth Goals
  • Conducting Observations
  • Understanding the District Administrator Settings

Please Note:
The use of artifacts and the packaging of evidence is embedded in the various chapters of the eVAL User Guide.

The Principal’s Guide to Summative Evaluation

The Principal Guide to Summative Evaluation provides principals and other evaluators with sequential steps to use the eVAL tool to complete the summative scoring of evidence, and to generate and share the final summative reports with their teachers. This tutorial includes sections for those principals who have packaged evidence throughout the process, as well as for principals who have not packaged evidence. Sample summative evaluation reports are included at the end of the guide.

The Teacher’s Guide to Summative Evaluation

The Teacher Guide to Summative Evaluation will help teachers take the steps required to view the final summative report in eVAL when they receive it from the principal, how to respond to the principal with a comment, and how to download the report.

Using eVAL Only for the Final Summative Evaluation Report

There may be times when a Principal has conducted the entire evaluation and scored evidence without the use of the eVAL tool, yet still wants to use eVAL to store the scores and archive the final summative reports for their assigned teachers. This short tutorial will demonstrate the steps to complete this task.
