Science, Technology, Engineering,
and Math (STEM) Learning Initiatives

Under the Department of Teaching Learning, the ESD 112 is currently developing the area entitled "STEM Learning Initiatives."

We are pleased to announce that the ESD112 has been granted a Math Science Partnership (MSP) award for 2012-15 entitled "STEM-LIT". Partnerships with Washington State University, Clark College, the Evergreen School District and industry partner SEH America will be working with 70 teachers via multi-level inquiry teams on professional development and STEM design challenges. Here is the link to the presentation made about STEM-LIT and the Impact of Collective Partnerships at the WASA Small Schools Conference in Yakima, WA in February 2013.

STEM Fest

A community event designed to help students explore their passion, pursue their vision and determine their own success.
On September 20, 21 & 22, 2013, the Southwest Washington Workforce Development Council (SWWDC), in partnership with the local school districts, colleges and businesses, will host Southwest Washington’s first Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) festival. Directed at your K-12 students, parents and teachers, STEM Fest will provide free, fun-filled activities hosted by local businesses. These activities will allow your students to discover cutting-edge technology, keep up-to-date on environmental issues, take excursions into our national forest and overall, discover what our local STEM industry has to offer.
