FRC Training
Basic FRC Training (BFRC)
This training provides the orientation and training for Family Resources Coordinator (FRCs) required for initial state registration. Participants will gain knowledge and understanding of the early intervention program requirements for FRCs and skills to facilitate development of an Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP).
Session one is an online training session to be completed before attending sessions two and three. You will receive online access to session one upon receipt of your registration. Training sessions two & three take place at nine ESDs across the state via K20 Video Conferencing. Low attendance at any ESD site may require traveling to another ESD region for two-day training.

Year Two FRC Training
Leadership and the Family Resources Coordinator: Exploring the Role (required for Year Two FRCs)
FRC Year Two Training is for people registered as an FRC who completed Basic Training between July 1, 2010 and June 30, 2011
The Family Resources Coordinator (FRC) plays a critical leadership role in the appropriate delivery of services to children under Part C of the IDEA. training will explore three essential elements of this role: Communication, Collaboration and Conflict Management, and the skills essential to each. Facilitated by Greg Abell, Sound Options Group, L.L.C.
In addition, Year Two FRCs must also complete an additional six contact hours of continuing education training and document it using the FRC Report Form. The form is to be completed and signed by the FRC, submitted to their Lead Agency for signature. The Lead Agency will submit a signed copy to ESD 112 for the documentation of hours.

FRCs Year 3 & Beyond
FRCs who have completed both the Basic FRC and Year Two Training, and have provided FRC services for at least two years, are required to submit 12 contact hours per year to maintain their state registration using the FRC Training Report.

FRC Emergency Training Request
If there is a need for a Family Resources Coordinator training before the next scheduled basic training, please complete the registration form for the next BFRC date and send it to connie.salzman@esd112.org
The FRC will be emailed access instructions to the Basic Family Resources Coordinator online training module. The emergency request for training is to be completed two-weeks after receipt of online access instructions. The FRC will receive temporary status certification valid until completion of the next available BFRC Training.

- Year 2 requires attendance at (1) of (2) training sessions offered plus (6) contact hours
- Year 3 requires (12) contact hours
