E-Rate Assistance

for schools and districts

ESD 112 provides assistance with the application process for E-Rate discounts for school districts in the E-Rate consortium.

Launched during the 2014-2015 school year, 21 school districts in Southwest joined the ESD 112 E-Rate consortium to get assistance with their E-Rate applications, and collectively, saved over $1.3 million. In 2015-2016, eight additional districts joined the cooperative.

What to do if you are interested in joining ESD 112's E-Rate Cooperative

If your district has made the decision to become a member district of the ESD 112 E-Rate Consortium, follow these steps:

1. Letter of Agency
This is the document that gets everything started. If you choose to use our services, please have your Superintendent sign this year's Letter of Agency and then return a faxed signed copy to me here on e-mail. Or you can fax it to 360.696.3099. Send the original signed copy to:

Educational Service District 112
Attention: Diane Pfeiffer
2500 NE 65th Avenue
Vancouver, WA 98661

Once we receive a scanned version of this document.
Paul will begin his work with your district.

2. Contract Language
Should your district decide to request our E-Rate assistance, we will enter into a contract with your district. This document lists the deliverables included in our contracts with districts.

3. ESD 112’s E-Rate Consortium Fee Schedule
Your district's membership fee is based on the amount of funding your district applies for. Please note that when districts apply for small amounts of E-Rate discounts, we can negotiate the consortium fee.

About our consultant:

Our E-Rate services are provided by our local E-Rate consultant, Paul Karlin, who comes to us from the Cleveland School District in Ohio. While there, he successfully applied for approximately $50 million in E-Rate discounts on behalf of that district. We have found Paul to be a strong advocate for the districts that he helps.
